Löhe Memorial Library holds a number of editions of Luther's Works, in a number of languages.
This is the comprehensive and scholarly edition of Luther's works in German and Latin.
Consisting of 112 volumes, published from 1883 to 2009, this monumental edition contains all works that Luther ever wrote, with scholarly references and footnotes. This includes many writings that have not yet been translated into English.
These volumes are held in the main collection and they may be used within the library.
The standard English edition of Luther's Works in 55 volumes is the American Edition (LW), published by Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, 1955-1986. A project to translate and publish an additional 20 volumes in English began in 2010.
Each volume of this edition is in the Reference collection for use within the library while a full set is also available for loan.
They are also available in an online searchable form through Verbum, accessible from one computer in the 24/7 section of the library, configured for this purpose. This online edition is, unfortunately, not available to distance borrowers.
